Fun ways to prevent “summer slide”

School’s out for summer! Did you know that children can lose up to two months of skills during the summer months? Do you want to know how you can help your child not have the dreaded “summer slide”?

For my family we will be building learning into our everyday routine. We will continue having our daughter read to us while increasing the difficulty of the books. We plan to begin reading chapter books as well. She was just beginning to discuss fractions as the year ended so we will talk about math as we make and eat meals. As we go on vacations we will take the opportunity to learn a little about the history of the places we visit. Most of all we will have fun and be active! Check out this link for more great idea:
